The 13th Prophecy Demon Kissed Volume 5 HM Ward 9780615598468 Books
I loved the last book in the Demon Kissed series. I think the 13th Prophecy has what a lot of readers are waiting for - for all of the main characters to truly realize their purpose and take ownership of their fate. For Ivy to stand up to the demon that has destroyed her life, and to close the loops on some unanswered questions from previous books in the series. This book did not disappoint, elements that have been strong throughout the series continued to strengthen the story line. There were still a few jaw dropping surprises and definitely heartache. I won't give away any spoilers, but the 13th Prophecy is a complete shock. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who has started the series or is looking for a new series- because the Demon Kissed series is consistently strong, well written, and hooks you from page one.

The 13th Prophecy Demon Kissed Volume 5 HM Ward 9780615598468 Books Reviews
Ok I did like this series a lot. Ivy was a bit annoying at times since she never felt the need to confess really important information. Everyone in this story seems to be like that. I did have a few unsolved mysteries though. SPOILER1. Why does Eric and Collins chase after her sister thinking she was the prophecy one but when it came to Ivy everyone was shocked. It was obvious they chose the wrong sister. 2. Why does Shannon sacrifice herself to save Ivy when she was chosen to kill her? 3. What was the purpose of the Omen. It was not truly explained why it hung around Ivy. 4. What happened after Lorren stepped through the black mirror. 5. Who killed Eric? The Lorren? 5. Aprys death.....really? I could go on and on about a lot of other lose ends that left me unsatisfied but it was still entertaining. However the story does tend to drag between the first and last book. It leads up to this huge battle that last for maybe a page.
I liked the premise of this series from the beginning (even as a more YA series which I don't favor as often.) I liked that it ended up darker and more risque than the earlier installments. I think Ward really show-cased the changes in Ivy from teen to queen. Since it was quite a lengthy series, I would drift away at times to other more instant gratification novels, but my curiosity in the plot always brought me back to see what else was in store for Ivy, Collin and Eric, since it was quite intricate. I couldn't put this one down, however as it had me piqued from the get-go and I was anxious to see how they would all end up. I think I could benefit from reading the whole series again because I seemed to be confused at some motives and decisions at times but just chocked it up as being left to figure it out on the fly just like Ivy had to. Sometimes, I thought I was following along with what the plan was, but then something would foil it or Ivy would do something else, so it did get confusing but the power struggle and love triangle kept me plugging right along.
I was quite shocked when the blood-feeding started during Satan's Stone and felt like I was reading a spin-off of True Blood for a bit, but truth-be-told, I didn't mind and I think it drew me in more. It seemed a little outlandish at first, but after finishing "The 13th Prophecy," it comes together as you see how Ivy is heavenly and dark all in one.
I was a little disappointed in the ending at first but mainly because I was hoping for a happy ending for all. I think the way Ward ended it was very unique and thought-provoking, and will likely remain lingering in her reader's mind for awhile. It reminded me a tad bit of the ending to my favorite PNR novel, "A Rose to the Fallen" by April Bostic (WarningAdult novel, only), only I didn't ball my eyes out this time like I did then. I did think the author could have fleshed out the ending as it seemed a little rushed, but you really feel for Ivy and are a little relieved that Jenna Marie was right about her blessing for Ivy, though I'm hoping that there is a little more to Ivy's story after this. Maybe the next might take care of that for me, I think it's written from Eric's p.o.v. Also, I hope she does tell us more of what happened to Lorren and Jenna Marie with Locoicea.
All in all, though parts of the story as a whole may be slower or less thought out than the rest, I thought this was a very good series and I'm excited to see what else H.M. Ward has in store for readers. I seem to remember noticing some other authors' names on the rest of the novels but only Ward's on the last, so I wonder if some of the disconnects that other reviewers mentioned was due to that, but I could be wrong. I liked the creative and mysterious writing, and I was interested enough to purchase a few of them without being disappointed, so I would definitely recommend the series to others if they like the genre. I would make a side note about some needed editing, but it wasn't anything that ruined the story for me. Happy Reading!
Ok, so this isn't gonna be some fancy, long-worded review. I'm not a professional, I'm just a fan from the start)
I loved this series from the first word, first chapter fir....I think you get it, and from the first word in Demon Kissed to the last word in The 13th Prophecy, they have been breathtaking, and amazing, and utterly indescribable.
The characters, amazing, well-rounded, and deep. The plots and settings, wonderful, the suspense, keeps you up all night and unfocused at school the next day)
I love Collin, no I FRICKEN LOVE COLLIN! (author asked me to put thatD), and he deserves the keyboard <3 for everything amazing, and how it ends, the best thing)
I can't wait for the spin-off series of before Demon Kissed, and Eric's story, and espicially for Bane, and the Twisted Tales! I enjoy reading this author, and always will!
I really loved this series and I was hooked from Chapter 1 as Ivy's life was like a runaway train with many unexpected twists and turns along the way. Her battle with demons and angels not to mention Kreterus is almost over and whether Collin or Eric will become casualties of war is yet to be seen. Who will be the last one standing and will Ivy become the Queen of the Underworld after all? This book had everything from star-crossed lovers to dragons and warrior angels plus a battle with the ultimate villain. Ivy shows courage and determination to fight the prophesy to ensure an outcome she could live with. I won't give away the ending, lets just say that it both pleased and surprised me. I will miss this series as I have been a fan for a long time now and look forward to more books from H.M. Ward that are just as compelling.
